A Joyful Gathering: The Feast of Mulk in Dundee

jsia999

The Dundee Bahá'í community recently gathered to celebrate the Feast of Mulk (Dominion) in a warm and welcoming home setting that exemplified the spirit of unity and fellowship characteristic of these regular gatherings.

The afternoon began with devotions, where the younger members of the community touchingly opened the spiritual portion with prayers. The gathered friends shared readings from sacred Bahá'í texts, including selections from the Kitáb-i-Aqdas and Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh, creating an atmosphere of reflection and reverence.

During the consultative portion, the community discussed upcoming activities with enthusiasm. Plans for Naw-Rúz celebrations were explored, with suggestions to organise a ceilidh that would welcome friends of the Faith to join in this joyous occasion. The friends also consulted on preparations for the Ayyám-i-Há period, particularly focusing on a special dinner planned for the end of February that would bring together both Bahá'ís and their friends in the wider community.

The gathering included the reading of correspondence from the National Spiritual Assembly, helping to connect the local community with the broader activities of the Faith in the United Kingdom. This was followed by closing prayers that brought the formal portion of the Feast to a gentle conclusion.

The social part of the Feast saw friends sharing a lovingly prepared meal together, with conversation and laughter flowing naturally around the table. The hospitality and warmth of the hosts created an environment where everyone could feel at home, reflecting the Bahá'í teaching that unity is best fostered through both spiritual connection and social fellowship.

These regular gatherings continue to strengthen the bonds within our growing community while providing opportunities to welcome those interested in learning more about the Bahá'í Faith and its vision for humanity.
