Organised by the Dundee Bahá'í community as part of their ongoing community activities, the Dundee Art Society's gallery came alive with intergenerational joy as families gathered to celebrate the Day of the Covenant, honouring 'Abdu'l-Bahá's love for children and the arts. The event showcased the Bahá'í community's commitment to fostering unity and creativity within the broader Dundee community.

The historic space, adorned with various artworks and winter decorations including vibrant poinsettias, provided the perfect setting for this special occasion. The Dundee Bahá'ís thoughtfully designed the celebration to merge artistic expression with spiritual celebration, creating an inclusive atmosphere where both children and adults could participate meaningfully throughout the Sunday afternoon activities, which ran from 14:00 to 17:00.

The children's corner buzzed with creative energy as young participants engaged in various hands-on activities. They delighted in building with Lego bricks, letting their imaginations run wild with colourful constructions. Paper craft stations saw children carefully cutting and creating delicate shapes and charming paper sheep, whilst painting activities allowed them to express their creativity with brushes and colours. The range of activities ensured that children of different ages and interests could find something engaging to participate in.

For the adults, the artistic dimension included paint and brushes, allowing parents to create their own interpretations of happiness on canvas. The celebration included musical elements, adding another layer of artistic expression to the gathering. The refreshment table offered a colourful spread of fruits and snacks, including oranges, apples, and various finger foods, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The day culminated in a meaningful closing ceremony, where members of the Bahá'í community and friends of the Faith gathered around a specially prepared mandala. At its centre, a candle burned brightly, casting a warm glow over the carefully arranged natural elements like pine cones and leaves that formed the mandala's intricate pattern. The gathering concluded with everyone joining together in prayer, creating a powerful moment of unity and reflection that perfectly embodied the spirit of the Day of the Covenant.

This thoughtfully orchestrated finale brought a sense of spiritual completion to the afternoon's celebrations, as Bahá'ís and their friends stood together in a circle, their faces illuminated by the central candle. The moment captured the essence of what the Dundee Bahá'í community had set out to achieve - creating an environment of unity and creativity that would have pleased 'Abdu'l-Bahá, who always emphasised the importance of children and the arts in bringing people together.

The event demonstrated how artistic expression can serve as a powerful medium for celebrating spiritual principles and fostering community bonds, whilst strengthening connections between the Bahá'í community and the broader cultural life of Dundee. The afternoon's progression from creative activities to the final, contemplative gathering around the mandala provided a perfect arc to the celebration, leaving participants with a sense of both joy and spiritual renewal.
